Here's the last new rose to flower - it's called 'Dr. Jo'. It had been dead-headed when it arrived, so I've had to wait for the buds to open. The 'Hot Chocolate' rose I planted in this area is also in flower. I just love the colour. It's a much better plant than the one I bought from the GC that's in my hot border.

Thank you, Cherry. 'Alibaba' hasn't stopped flowering since I planted it! The Clematis I put with it has a flower on it, just opening now. I like the two colours together, fortunately.

;D I like your hot chocolate rose Geranuim, lovely colour ;D Thank you Hywel - I tend towards those rose forms rather than the 'quartered' blooms. Just personal taste, I suppose. Thanks, Rosie. Strangely, I first saw it at Wisley, where I also spotted 'Rhapsody in Blue'. I was with Louise, and we were both dubious about them, but in my garden, I love both of them! Grindle, we have good taste, don't we.

I like both sorts, but perhaps prefer frilly petals. I had a beautiful quartered rose at my previous garden which unfortunately had such weak stems and necks that the roses always hung down. It did put me off them a bit. The rose also suffered from balling in wet weather. We hardly see wet weather here, so it would be better for that type of rose.
The only rose I like to see with downward facing flowers is Mme. Gregoire Staechilin because you have to look up to it. As it can climb to more than 20 ft. I have only seen it about four times.

I don't know that one, Cherry - my 'Lady Hillingdon' tends to hold her flowers downwards, too. Otherwise, she's beautiful.
