This chap or chapess arrived a couple of days ago, we think it was hit by a car. When it first arrived it was on an upstairs windowsill, it then moved to the downstairs windowsill, now it is on the ground. It can fly but hasn't bothered since the OH has given it a bowl of water and bought it its own food. I believe tonight it will become fox fodder. I'm practicing the full sympathy bit because the OH will be so upset

It may pull through. I have a limping pigeon, so it looks different and I have got to know it. It has been more that three years in the front garden. It flies and had a partner and nest, so it enjoys its life.
We will look forward to tomorrow.

I did suggest catching it and putting it in the strawberry cage where it would be safe but the OH is convinced if the pigeon keeps still the fox won't find it He hasn't named it yet (thankfully) although he has downloaded designs for pigeon houses. He has never grasped 'survival of the fittest'

It is still alive, the OH topped up its water and gave it some more food. He thinks the pigeon is a she.

I hope so too, Wf - but I wouldn't be sympathising if it was a rook!

If the weather forecast gives rain I'll build it some sort of shelter, I'm just too soft It is looking rather sweet hiding by the agapanthus.

My limping pigeon was taking small sticks to the nest today. Do both sexes build the nest? I have no idea if it is a m. or f.
