The male brings the nesting material to his mate, one piece at a time and she builds the nest. They mate for life, this actually means the male protects the female from all other male pigeons but he will sow his wild oats when ever possible.

Our pigeon met its maker last night It should have happened on the first night before I got attached to it. I'm feeling guilty now that I didn't catch it and put it out of harms way. I'm far too sentimental for my own good

That guilt trip didn't last long Last night we had a pet pigeon, this morning we had half a pet pigeon, now we have a few pet pigeon feathers. I'm not sure what ate it but it must be a lot fatter now ;D
