How about Salvia nemorosa 'Ostfriesland' and Californian Poppies. Or Salvia Mrs Bumble and Gaura 'Bee Blossoms'

Very nice combination.
I love to see limy-yellows together with purple or perhaps even better, apricot and purple. I once saw a hanging basket composed solely of purple and apricot Million Bells Petunia's. It looked stunning!

I can immagine, so often people stuff all colours in them. Yesterday I walked past an unloved front garden, there were just two flowers, a Cornflower and a Californian poppy. They hit me in the eye

I have a bronze border of pittosporum tenuifolium purpurea underplanted with heuchera creme caramel and heuchera licquorice so you get bronzes with the rich mustardy golds.
It looks best in winter because in summer the pittosporums have all the new green growth on them and the effect is lost a bit.
I also like to dot alpine dianthus 'Neon Star' around the herbaceous borders in the front garden because it adds shots of vibrancy to the area - the colour brings the rest of the patch alive.

Merlin, do you mean Salvia Royal Bumble. I think that came from me and I have just potted up a load of sticks with a few leaves at the end hoping this is the one and not a pink one which I had. I might just be able to save it and see. I love it.

I've taken more yesterday.

I don't know that one - has anyone got a photo of it for me to see, please?
I like purple and gold together. Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna' with Calendula 'Orange King' or 'Neon'.
