Well done Bluebell. That is excellent news. Will you have to stay in Edinburgh? It is a great place to stay anyway.

Well done Bluebell. That is excellent news. Will you have to stay in Edinburgh? It is a great place to stay anyway. Now that Burke & Hare have gone Good news on the course. Shame you won't have so much time to come on here with all your studying. ;D Steve did a course a year or two ago but not at Uni I think. I did an OU science course which took in biology and botany in part so we know there is some hard nose to the grindstone stuff coming up. Will you be using it for career or just personal satisfaction? Anyway, well done you.

thank you all for your lovely comments i have spent the day re-arranging and updating alot of the pots in my garden, and planting up some marguerites i bought today, so apart from the initial rush of excitement, ive had that feeling all day like its your birthday - like a secret smile ;D i will be 'commuting' by driving to edinburgh every day, but we had already made the decision as a family to relocate nearer edinburgh within a couple of years, as it would make more sense, and there is alot more opportunity for our girls, and undeniably better placed for shops, theatre, ballet, concerts, bistro's, deli's........... i could go on......... it turns out i have a trip to go on BEFORE we start the course, which would be the week before. we go to the west of scotland around oban, and stay in log cabins for four days, visiting gardens and nurseries in the area, bbq's each night, and general team-building for all the first-year horti's and garden designer's. as a mature student though, i shall of course be exercising decorum! *well as long as i have a whisky to hand at the end of the day* thanks again you lovely people

this is going to be a career for me, as i now need to step into the breach because my husband had to 'medically' retire at 43 due to a broken back. i am hoping to go into plant science and botany at one of the botanic gardens, as this has always been my interest, and to hopefully get into the research into medicinal plant therapy for neuro conditions ;D

This is absolutely fantastic news for you.......I'm sooooooo pleased for you.....If I had my time over again I would be doing something like this ....You family must be as proud as punch and I'm sure you will be doing some celebrating when your feet are back on the floor. Your "team building" week sounds good too. Hope you can let us know how you are getting on from time to time. Go girl...
