That cat caught one of the Dunnocks Through the bino's i saw it playing with something, alive, could see it was a bird - ran outside to save it and then saw what it was It ran away, with the bird, and all i had there was a small pile of feathers Soooo upset Why do we love our cats so much I'll never get another when something happens to mine

Don't feel too bad, it's survival of the fittest, only the quickest and strongest will survive to breed.

I'm afraid it's in their genes, Louise. I'd have been upset as well though. I know how you enjoy your bird-visitors.

I've always got cats lurking near my feeders

I'm fortunate, our locals don't bother with my feeders, they are too high and up a slippy pole

The bird feeders are high up in a rowan but there are mature bushes everywhere and the ground feeders dart amongst them - this is how the little dunnock probably met his fate because he couldn't have seen the cat or he wouldn't have been down on the ground The clingers can see the danger from the tree top

I was given a three foot statue of Charlie Chaplin today. I'm not sure if he will stay or will be just visiting (he looks a bit like Hitler with his flies undone ;D).

That is what I thought when he was given to me. I will give him the benefit of my doubt, he might grow on me but if not, the flooding season is coming, I'm sure he will float ;D

Do you know the giver of said gift well ? Do they think this is your style ? Good job it floats well, you might find it goes for a bit of a sail
