I think he'd be put in the back of my shed and only brought out if the giver was coming.

Good idea Geranium but that wouldn't work here, people don't give us advanced warning, they just arrive.
I wonder if he would frighten the deer if I put him in the orchard ;D

It adds humour to the garden. In the right place it just might work. If you think about it, I have potato scales and pig feeders and some people like cans and mirrors. They are all fairly silly, but again, in the right place.
Not here though.

No wonder there are air accidents. A pilot was coming in just after 1500 yesterday and got lost over here, even though an aeroplane was sitting out on the ground and there was a big windsock. He flew around here about ten times and he has GPS too. He did not have his diversion sussed, which would have been Fenland near to here, so had to radio an emergency number for somewhere to land. He spent the night near Peterborough. I must go now and heat some soup to warm them all up.

A lot of pilots don't even have much more than basics. We have had Marham on the phone a few times checking on aircraft where the pilots have not done the right thing. We are in Marham airspace and they are very good and caring.

That pilot did not make it home, but he is alright. He diverted and his wife picked him up. This time, my husband had given him his diversion. He has exhausted me, let alone my husband and the engineer.

My husband said that some people live like this. He goes to France a lot and flies the long leg which takes an hour over water, with a single engine. The engineer flies to his house in France a lot, and always takes the shortest route over the water. This is accepted good sense. He was also in the RAF.
