The world has lost the plot! Last Sunday our toaster gave up the ghost. As we were off to a car boot I thought I’d pick up another one so at least I could have my toast when I got home. The toaster slot was not long enough for a slice of bread on its side and not deep enough to take a full slice, a percentage of it poked out of the top. Which resulted in my slice of toast having an untoasted top. I thought I’d bought a special toaster for a bagel or a teacake. Yesterday I went out to buy a proper toaster only to find they were all the same. There was one for £80 which boasted it was extra deep. Does the world not eat toast anymore?

I have had my mauve coloured Tefal for 13 years and it is still going strong. However, the cheap electric kettle is annoying because the filter has broken up and the power of the steam causes the lid to fly up, so it doesn't switch off automatically. Ususally the cheap ones just leak but not this one. I must get the caravan one up here.

Ours will only take Warburtons small square type sliced bread but not any bigger or any farmhouse/homemade types. I usually cut the crust off to fit as I tend to leave them anyway (that's why I've not got curly hair as my mum would have said!) ;D

You'd better tell Grindle about that Sue, all this time she has been blaming damp weather but here hair is actually curling because she cuts the crust off her toast ;D The world has gone mad, it seems toasters no longer toast a whole slice of bread That has got to be as bad as not being able to get 'a coffee' in a coffee shop, I used to drink black coffee, now I drink Americano.

Tomorrow is the LAA Course, so I will be busy in the morning. I think I am well prepared.

My daughter loved Bruce Springsteen when he sang 'Born in the USA'. I have to admit he still looks good and sounds OK. You will come home deaf. You must be millionaires to go to one of these concerts. Enjoy it.
