I remember having to use a watering can, during a hose pipe ban to water the dahlias, it took me 6 hours.

Had a request for 300 mixed reds for 14th July today Thats a shame Richard, that would have been a fantastic order. Why do people leave it so long to order Dahlias.

Thanks Tel, just a bit too early for me. However, the request came from a wholesaler I expect to use through the summer (as well as local florists). There will, hopefully, be some very exciting uses in a few weeks time: watch this space!

I got the wrong end of the stick as well! Expect to begin cutting in earnest in 2/3 weeks. If all goes well should be able to get 600 - 800 a week of in two or 3 cuts. They are all progressing well now, the rain of late and warm nights has really helped them.

Well, you Dahlia experts - here's my surviving 'Karma Choc' which kindly flowered in time for the students' visit today. The second tuber rotted. I love the colour, so I'll try some more next year, or a similar one if you have any ideas, please? One more to open - 'Vancouver'. The bud is showing purple tips, so I have hopes of it.
