Well I only saw the first one and I still think it's for 'entertainment'. I've always liked Monty but surely there's another 'Geof H' out there, someone beginners and Louise could identify with I liked Geoff i can remember watching him with my mother as a child ;D. And then Alan after ;D.

completely agree with blossom - just love their encyclopaedic knowledge. if any one can understand french, a programme called 'jardins et loisirs' on sky ch 799 - TV5 on a thursday morn about 8am, is the exact equivalent of our geoff hamilton. its very good, and its for all abilities and levels of gardening. it includes pieces on pests and diseases, peoples gardens, specialist plant growers, and constructing beds or other jobs. i have it on series link record, so i can sit and watch it in the evenings

I read that the Horticultural Channel had been 'pulled' already - you can only see it online now. (Don't know how...) Why do we gardeners get a raw deal?

The Horticultural programme ran out of funding to keep it on the tv. They had contacted a few big companies inc T&M but apparently they all declined to help fund it.

I'm still enjoying Alan's show, there's been something that's interested me in each programme so far even though the gardens are different to mine & I find it pleasant watching.

sooo disappointed that gardeners world is not on again tonight, for a SECOND week! come on bbc2 this is completely unfair. you know that this time of year is key, and experienced as many of us may be, we still want to see how things are panning out for others at this crucial time of year, especially re: crops and veggies. the alternative on the other side is not going to make me rush for the remote, so it looks like i'll be out in the greenhouse again till late. GRRR! BBC2!
