It's rare but nice to hear of sensible news. I've been banging on about the dumping of wood and other combustible stuff for years. Our local tip is full of it but now 'apparently' the Gov. are going to have it burnt to make energy.

Apparently bio mass boilers chomp up tons of old wood for fuel.

Are there Power Stations already in existence to use this wood for generating? I must ask OH - he might know.

Our tip has been recycling it for a few years. Our tip is very good on recycling, everything is sorted for recycling, about 30% of dumped rubbish now goes to land fill.

Yes, ours is pretty good too. Unfortunately, due to County cuts, some of the tips are closing, ours has already cut its hours and isn't open two days a week, plus closing early on other days. Not good - there's unsorted rubbish outside the gates.

Our farm uses the bio mass power station at Sutton for hay around the triangle under the windsock. This is too weedy for animals, so it goes for fuel. This has been in operation for many years Merlin.
