hello folks, not sure if the content in this thread has been repeated before..... ive just starting feeding everything with my new nettle tea liquid feed that i made around a fortnight ago. i bought a 100l water butt kit from argos, and went and cut a huge bin liner full of nettles [found a four-leaf clover while i was at it] and put them in the butt and filled with water. put the lid on, checked it the other day - it was frothy and had started to 'whiff' a bit - added a big handful of roughly chopped garlic bulbs too, lid back on. went to check today, and, jeez the smell is pure evil! the froth wasnt as much, more of a scum now, so got worried that i'd now made something toxic, and wouldnt be able to use it on my edibles - which is the main point really - so i told all this to *ahem* a forum i'm am also a member of, and a man called terry walton kindly said everything i was doing was completely correct and normal, and that it is a 'fine feed', so of course i'm to cut it with water and happily feed it to my greedy veg ;D started it tonight, and, man i cant get rid of the smell on me! stupidly, i took off the end of my hosepipe head, to fill up the butt again, after taking some out into a carton, and the blooming hose splashed me all over, considerably covering me in the residue of the top of the inside of the butt! so, once ive had me cuppa, im off in the shower! anyone else use this, and whats been your results.......

It has only been mentioned, but thanks for the proper instructions. I expect Terry Walton should know. Let us know how you get on. Is it better than Phostrogen?

I couldn't fill a bag with comfrey, and it may be no better than nettles. I think they are similar, but we have the exact breakdown of comfrey. Other plants have just not been analysed.

I have not tried either, there is one allotment holder i know, he collects comfrey all the time.

I wouldn't mind giving this a go actually. Are the end results worth it? Has anyone I know tried this, because Bluebell is doing this for the first time by the sound of it.

just to let you all know, the nettle tea liquid feed is a resounding success ;D ;D ;D my plants have now all got 'jazz hands' up in the air, looking perkier than ever, and growing well like a dream. i never expected to see such a difference in just two days, but seriously my cucumber plant must have put on three inches! very happy now, this will be my lifelong feed and tonic for all plants

Gosh, I wouldn't want to let it loose on my brilliant fen soil. I will be growing triffids. Keep the info coming.
