It looks lovely, what a great day for it, I can almost feel that cool sea breeze. That is a stunning stretch of coast.
I didn't notice the hog roast so I'll probably not get to see it ;D

Who needs the French Riviera when you've got Devon coastline. It looks like a scene from a Daphne Du Maurier novel.

It should Merlin. It is just about the closest you can get to her house.
That is beautiful Grindle. I wish I had got to see this when I stayed at Hope Cove. That magnolia is fabulous. How old would it be I wonder. It must have come direct with a planthunter in the old days,.

it was worth the trip, not an easy garden to get to, fortunately I wasn't driving, the new head gardener has big plans for it, she came and gave our garden club a talk about it in February. Sorry WLF no hog roast, but they did a very nice fresh crab sandwich ;D Tel, is this a species Dahlia? the pollen beetles liked it ;D anyone know what this fern is?

Not seen that dahlia Grindle, it could be from the Variabilis Species.

That is an unusual fern, I haven't seen one on a stalk before. Where is Steve, he might know.
I am wondering because the garden is on the coast and the climate is kinder it might not be native.
