Good Hywel. I think cats are far more sensible when it comes to eating than dogs. My two dogs ate about 11 lily bulbs and were sick for a week. I did not take them to the vet, because they were bringing it up, so what would the vet do?

My Heleniums are in full bloom now. The first flower on my Acidanthera - I grow them in pots each year. Phlox 'Little Red Riding Hood' Dark pink Phlox against Lavatera 'Cynthia Nixon'.

Floydie and Geranium - such a lot of colour and interesting plants. I had some Tigridas last year but they've died for some reason. Linum I must get for next year. I've usually got it but not this year. And those poppies ara lovely I do like your Heleniums Geranium, and Acidanthera is another must for next year. I haven't grown it since living up here. They always lighten up a corner. Do you leave them in the ground all year ? I used to grow them in pots and bring them in the shed but I wonder if they're hardy ... I must get my laptop fixed so that I can put some photos on

I used to plant them in the soil, but they either didn't reappear, or had no flowers the following year. I don't think they're reliably hardy - nor, I think, are Tigridias, which would explain why yours died.
