Can you tell I'm new? I have a million questions! While wandering round Heligan Gardens this year I noticed they were growing Anemone St Pirans. I haven't seen these before but apparently they're a Cornish specialty. While you can but these precut does anyone know where you might be able to get them to grow in your own garden?

I can't see anywhere except like you 2 places offering cut flowers, seems most are imported these days which is a shame!

They are pretty, maybe they're only available to the trade as they're sold as cut flowers. Heligan have an online shop where you can buy seeds & linen, gifts etc. & it does say on there they will start selling plants soon so maybe eventually sell the corms themselves.

This is an email I received from the firm which supplies the cut flowers:
Hello
Sorry it has taken me a day or two to reply – it has been quite a busy week so I am now catching up. The st Piran corms come from Duchy College at Camborne – they have the breeding rights to them. You would need to speak to Bill Herring on 01209 722 100. I know when I enquired this year that they were in short supply but for a small supply they may be able to help. I am growing the Jerusalem anemone as I don’t have much luck with the Dutch varietys.
I have my name on the list for next season all ready so if you have any difficulties please do not hesitate to contact me.
The St Piran are a lovely strain of anemone and seem to do very well here in Cornwall.
Many thanks
Jenny
I grew the Jerusalem Anemones last year and have been looking hard at the pictures to see the difference.

Thank you Cherry! Will give the Jersulam Anemones a try in that case. I think they're such lovely flowers. Thank you! Will give Camborne a ring to. Thanks
