hi
I bought a japanese honeysuckle from the garden centre (with a rhs merit award) but just noticed on the web that it is listed as an invasive plant
does anyone grow this and had any problems - I havent planted it yet and am hesistant to now. do I need to worry?
it says on the web that Growth and spread of Japanese honeysuckle is through vegetative (plant growth) and sexual (seed) means. It produces long vegetative runners that develop roots where stem and leaf junctions (nodes) come in contact with moist soil. Underground stems (rhizomes) help to establish and spread the plant locally.

No need to worry, especially as the plant holds an award from the RHS. You can just clip it back if it gets too bossy. I think this is one that I have and I am firm with its pruning, but do like it.
