You're right - I have some vouchers to spend, and I should have gone off up the M5. ;D

I just love being outside, although this year has been a bit of a challenge, I'm looking forward to starting all over again next year. I love your optimism, do you think your four legged tornado will have calmed down by next year? Nope not a chance( btw latest casualty is the forest pansy, there's no top to it now )

Grindle I dropped my Forest Pansy the minute after I bought it at Darby's sale for £4.00. A branch broke and you would never know that now. It is just beautiful, so don't worry about it.

I'm mystified, Grindle - how did Dylan reach the top of the Forest Pansy? Is it a very small one?

for me its memories, growing and tending things that I remember from my child hood. It is also part of my education and my employment. It is a pleasure, exercise and de-stress, de stress in particular. It is purely me time too. The girls will help out sometimes but not with good grace sometimes. So I prefer to be myself.

:)My Father was a gardener farmer and butcher so we grew up with a love of plants, animals, and eating from the land....gardening to me now it is a challenge to make the garden look better than it was last year in spite of the weather, the badgers and the foxes.I want to be transported to another place, and sometimes it works, but, with the help of OH who is as keen (thankfully) we will do it, my ambition was to get in the "yellow book" and we did ( it has taken 30 years and many gardens) We could not live without the garden it is our passion.......

I'm mystified, Grindle - how did Dylan reach the top of the Forest Pansy? Is it a very small one? Mine is only about 4 ft high and wide but it is well filled out, so it looks bigger. A dog of Dylan's size would have no trouble with this. Did you buy yours as a large tree?

I was very upset, especially as it was a stupid shape with two twigs growing, but it is really beautiful now. It sits in full sun, has been ignored, but the leaves have covered its scars and it is a glorious young tree.
