How can teenagers, police and even a police dog mistake this phlox for cannabis? Unbelievable! I grow a lot of this and could never make that mistake. Now if it had been hemp, which grows in fields near here, that would be different.

I grew a Hemp plant in the greenhouse from Bird seed mix, just to see what it would look like....and yes exactly the same leaf but no powers ;D

I don't think I'd know Canabis if I saw it . Don't think I'd mistake a Phlox for it though ;D

I wouldn't have a clue what the 'real' stuff smelt like anyway

I wouldn't know it's shape, smell or anything. Actually i lie ..... the guy in Asda's filling station always smelled 'different' and one day, whilst stood in the queue there to pay, i mentioned it quietly to the guy stood behind me and he said "that's marijuana smell, the guy at the desk always smells of it" ! Clearly it wasn't just me who'd noticed it. I realised back in the summer that he no longer smelt of it but he had done for all the years i've been going there !!!

My younger brother smoked it, but I don't know if he can get it now that my father is dead. My father grew it big time in Queensland and would go to court with a walking stick and wearing his war medals. The police followed my husband and me all the way home to my daughter's house because we visited my father. Once the police knew who we were, it was alright.
When I lived in Findhorn, The Crown and Anchor pub always smelt of cannabis because the people in the commune had it.

The smell is very noticeable when you're familiar with it, if it hadn't been for that guy in the garage i'd never have known what it smelt like.

While I was still at school, all HTs had to attend a course on drugs run by the Police - they brought all sorts of banned substances and pills for us all to look at.

Well, what can I say? I think Katherine Faulkner has been smoking the ‘real’ thing. I’ve been down and had a good sniff of my Phlox, Katherine is definitely away with the fairies, I even crushed the leaves, it didn’t smell of anything. Can you imagine how strongly it would have to smell to waft out of the garden? "Neighbours had reported how streams of local teenagers had been knocking on the couple’s door asking to buy marijuana."Hello Katherine, planet earth is down here
