I would like to get a plant for my garden in memory of my sister Jeana, her actual name is Jane and i wondered if you all had any suggestions? I went to the RHS plant finder but all the one's with Jane in their name that i liked hadn't been listed for a few years and i couldn't find them on a general search on the net.
Soooooo, i thought i would ask my friends on here for any ideas ;D
I have no idea what i would like so suggest away ;D ;D

Getting a plant with Jane as part of its name is very limiting and you will probably end up compromising. What you want is something that makes you feel good every time you look at it. You loved your sister so buy a plant in her memory that you love too. The plant you need to get is that plant you have always drooled over but could never justify. Hang the expense, she is worth it.

Why do you need a plant with Jane in the name? I would go for a long lived plant, or preferably a tree, to be planted in a place where it is assured a long life without needing to be shifted. What about a copper beech? This should suit your area very well.

Yes it is a tricky name, I've got plants called Grindle Cherry, etc. and a Rowan tree called Froglady. The only plant I can think of with those letters is Ja smi ne. So if her middle names were Sarah Millie Irene it wluld fit the bill. I agree with WF and Cherry.

Found one of Grindle's suggestions available for £29.99, Magnolia Jane, it looks very pretty & something long lasting to remember your sister by. www.giftaplant.com/shop/BIRTHDAY_GIFTS_FOR_HER/Magnojane1/There's also a Phlox paniculata called 'Jeana' but it only seems to be available in America at the moment.
