I have piles of fat ball containers which are washed out and stored in the railway carriage. Some, along with chicken pellet containers, house packets of glyphosate and bone meal, etc., but there must be more uses for the huge collection. I even use one for car washing. What do you do with these?

What do they look like Cherry ? I only use the ready filled half coconut shell . I had thought of refilling them myself but didn`t like the idea of washing them what with all the disease it might harbour.

duh! you mean the round tubs they come in .
you could paint them, use for hanging baskets, cut the bottoms out and stack them like bricks to grow strawberries in, like bob flowerdew did with the tyres.

I only have the one, I just keep refilling it with fat balls I buy in bags. I suppose they come in handy for storing lots of things, seed packets, bird seed, dog biscuits etc.

Ladybird you are winning so far. They might be good to start off my pumpkins on the compost heap.

I usually buy them in packets or loose, so I don't have any

Wouldn't they be more expensive that way? I notice that SueA buys them like this too. I can hardly keep up with these birds. In fact, I have bought fat balls two at a time sometimes.

I saw they were selling boxes of 50 in Homebase. You are as bad as me for hoarding useful things which you have no use for ;D I've got a huge jam jar collection
