As i'd made a few rased beds for my veg, had to order in some new soil. All these suppliers sound wonderful, and i've tried a few in the past and not been totally happy,so after much searching again i decided to go here www.gardentopsoildirect.co.uk/products.asp?catID=1Must say the screened 10mm is the best looking soil i've ever had. You could certainly grow a tremendous crop of carrots in it as it is nice and sandy, yet still feels as if it's got a bit of body to it. I'll be using it for onions mainly though, so will add a bit more organic matter to it. I'm also using it to top up my sweet pea beds, and will mix it in with a few things to grow tomatoes All in all, good stuff and they were bang on with delivery. Well recommended.

Sounds good stuff Scrumpy. We had a guy knocking on doors around here the other day selling compost & topsoil for £5.60 for 80l but I think they just sneak up the moss nearby & dig it up on the sly! ;D

Just mixed one part of it with two parts Keith Singleton hanging basket/tub compost. Before mixing i incorporated one scoop of BTD and one scoop of nutrimate to 8 litres of the top soil. Will grow sweet peas in tubs with this and will use the same mixture for tomatoes later on with dolomite of lime added.

I used to get my topsoil from a rose nursery. They regularly changed their topsoil and sold it screened and ready bagged. never had any probs with it. On the Kingston Bypass. I suppose Esther would be our nearest member.
