jrae, Centaurea montana (the blue one) can be a bit thug-ish. It spread all over the place, and must seed itself, because I get it in the cracks of my paving. Thanks Geranium I'll definitely give it a try then as I like most plants that grow everywhere without any help

That erodium is lovely isn't it Grindle, it does look like a geranium. Trilliums must like it in Scotland Rosie, I remember seeing loads at Logan Botanic Garden, my Clematis montana has finished, yours looks great- nice pruning job! it does doesn't it, it's a great plant, once it starts flowering, it doesn't stop all summer Rosie, I love your trillium, I got one flower this year
