Sounds daft Peony, but the birds eat every rowan berry. There will not be any. On another young tree I will have a few left because I am near it every day.
That is a good pic Grindle. You can even see the hairs inside the foxglove clearly.

I love foxgloves & love when you see rowan berries against a blue sky - shame you don't get the chance to see that many Cherry!

Yes, they do, Grindle. This year I don't want my new lupins swamped, so I'm going to keep them trimmed. If you like foxgloves, which I do too, you'll love the one bred by T&M. I found it at the GC yesterday and fell for it - it's called 'Illumination Pink' and it's supposed to be hardy. Unfortunately, it's also sterile.

Very pretty, but if this is sterile, do you have to take cuttings every year Geranium?

It's supposed to be perennial, I've got 5 plants of it but I think I will try taking some cuttings just in case they disappear. I'm thinking of putting 3 in a pot which I will protect over winter & the other 2 in the ground to see how they do.

it's been quite a hit according to the website, over 25000 plants sold in less than a week of Chelsea, anyone wanting it now, has to wait until October for delivery. It says it's hardy, but doesn't say how much cold it will take, so I think getting cuttings going as insurance is a good idea Sue

That's what I'll have to do then - insurance!
