Can anyone recommend a good seedless watermelon? I've been asked to grow seedless ones and I know they're all hybrids but I'd like to know which ones taste pretty good. I've tried a few seedless kinds mostly japanese hybrids grown by a farmer around here, some of them taste pretty bland.

Jrae, I did not know seedless were available. I don't like watermelon, so I wouldn't taste if for you. I would much rather eat canteloupe. Good luck in finding a good variety.

I'm not very fond of watermelons as well. I have emailed the secretary of our farmers co-op and she promised to ask around. I also emailed some seed companies and as usual they all say their watermelons are the best

I've got samples in the mail today the seed companies I bugged. Now I hope they grow without too much fuss as I have to be ready to supply fruits also by january next year. Now to find people who'd want to do a taste test when I get watermelons as our farm guys like mangoes and avocados and not much else. ;D After a lot of reading up and asking around I found out that I needed regular watermelons as well to pollinate fruits since the seedless ones don't produce enough pollen. www.ccmr.cornell.edu/education/ask/index.html?quid=651

Very interesting Jrae. If I don't comment much, it is because this is out of my league, but you do seem very efficient at growing tropical fruit.
