Not 'plants' as such but I bought some seed potatoes yesterday 'Charlotte' & 'Winston' & some shallot sets from Plumley's garden centre, I'll probably get some more potatoes next week if we go to the Macclesfield Treacle Market & potato day.

I was given a Daphne bholua ‘Jacqueline Postill’ which was overwintering in an open tunnel and not looking very well. I have covered it with garden fleece to acclimatise it to normal conditions. There are lots of pink buds on it but I think I should not get too anxious to display it until frost and snow has gone. No snow yet, and very few frosty mornings so far. I wish the proper winter would come so I can get it over and done with.

Good luck with your daphne Cherry:) My white one is still very small, even after all these years. As always patience is the name of the game.

Lou78W Mine is about 3 ft tall and the pink buds are turning into white flowers. It is lovely. My previous one must be about 6 ft by now and it was a good width when I left it. I have four different daphnes now. I like them so much.

I haven't looked at mine in a while; I've been ill and not ventured into the garden for some weeks. I'll try and do an "inspection" soon.

Get well soon Lou78W , hopefully the weather will improve too soon & you can get outside. I bought 2 little pots of snowdrops at the weekend when we were in a farm shop, couldn't resist, will try & get them in the ground this week. Didn't go to the potato day in Macclesfield yesterday as the weather was wet & windy so I'll get the ret of my seed potatoes somewhere else.
