I've now put them in bigger, clay pots and put them in the rings on the balcony railings. Pictures later today.

Thank you both! I hope they will keep on flowering for a few more months - though I suppose they won't flower much after Easter. I've rarely grown them & don't remember how long they lasted. If I remember correctly I bought them for the balcony as very tiny plants in little plastic enclosures in Wilcos - many years ago!

I've just checked my photos on Google & found some plants in flower way back on Christmas Eve 2002! They were flowering well in photos I have of February 2003. The ones I was talking about above were the ones I had flowering in April 2006.The last pictures I found date back to March 2009.

keep dead heading and feeding them and you may get flowers well past April.

seaburn , thanks for that advice! BTW, I found photos I had on G Photos & downloaded some of them. There are some pictures way back to 2002! But they are dark & very grainy. I've added some light to them so now they are not so dark but I can't do anything about the graininess.

I've bought a few loose seed potatoes - Swift, Home Guard, and King Edward. I'm going to grow them in tubs as usual. I've also bought some loose peas, you can get them in a garden centre near here - Klevedon, they grow to about 18 inches, and Sweet Sarah, they grow 24 inches. I'm going to sow them in my raised bed.

Here are a few of my Primroses over the years on the balcony. As they are from many years ago now they are poor quality, especially compared to the pictures we can take nowadays with our mobile phones.
I think this first one was taken with a film camera (anybody remember those?? ) To remember the dates I took many of my photos I wrote the date on a piece of paper so I would know when it was taken. It often took a long time before they were developed & printed & I would forget when I took them.
These last 5 I bought in little plastic cases from Wilco's in 2006!
The photos taken in 2003 & 2004 were taken using my very first digital camera my wife bought me. That was in the days before we had "smart" phones! Unfortunately it had very little memory & was heavy on battery power & they kept running out on me! (They were alkaline as well so it became an expensive hobby! I probably stopped using it after getting my first "smart" phone.

grindle, it is indeed! I have 1,000s! I've grateful to Google for saving them for me as well as I've had 3 or 4 computers in the 23 years since we bought our first (Win XP). I'd have lost a great many if they weren't stored in the cloud!

I bought a few shalotts and a large Cyclamen corm for the autumn. I'm going to plant the shalotts in my raised bed but don't know where to plant the Cyclamen corm yet.
