Bought fresh tom and cuc seed as well as parsnip and carrots. Too wet to plant parsnips out yet, next week hopefully.

went over to our plant warehouse as they have their bedding plants in (under cover) and were selling 15 x 13cm plants for 24.95 really good plants, also picked up 2x Dryopteris 'brilliance' a Fatsia Spiders Web, a large Leucothoe reduced to £3 and a Pieris, these are for the bit of garden at the side of the house as I have a huge gap since I cut down a Corylus contorta which had got too big

Went to visit a friend who sells Snowdrops. We had ordered £50 from her. She insisted that we took all the ones that she had not sold rather than replanting them herself. So, we came away with over £100 extra. Now all I need is to plant them myself. Finding room may be a problem.

that's a lovely problem to have GG. Are they named varieties or the species ones?

that's a lovely problem to have GG. Are they named varieties or the species ones? All named ones. Average cost £5 per clump and she gave us 30 clumps. atkinsii, arnott, Merlin, John Gray, scharlockii, Lavinia, Cordelia,Heffalump, Comet. plicatus, ewersii ssp ewersii and probably some others that I don't remember the name.

Given a big bag of Leucojum freshly lifted. Potted up in 5's and hope they stabalise. Why lifted now when just coming into flower I have no idea but if they survive I will be more than happy.

Today I got my wife a Jasmine plant on a hoop from Sainsburys! It was half price & in a ceramic pot. Surprisingly the other plants they had looked to be in very good condition even after more than a week in the shop! Yet outside they had dozens of Hyacinths drooping all over the place as well as dead Camellias & a few other dead plants! It made me want to cry! (I haven't got a photo yet but I'll get one & post it tomorrow.) 7 years ago I also got her an identical plant, also half price, from Tesco. But that was only one day after Mother's Day. This plant had been in the shop for at least 7-8 days.
