I can send you a small Salvia microphylla 'Royal Bumble' which makes a lot of growth over summer, so it will put on a good turn after the spring and flower for months. Do you want this Geranium? I don't like 'Hot Lips' either.

That's very kind, Cherry, but I have one, and unfortunately it's the wrong colour for my border, so I might be removing it to pass on!
Another plant that I actually have that looks good all the year round except when it flowers is a Helychrysum italicum. I love the silver leaves, but the mustard coloured flowers are horrible. I chop them off! ;D

Geranium, you could cut it down to almost nothing anytime now, put it in a pot and it will look good for your sale next year.

I used to like cosmos and zinnias, but they ended up reseeding everywhere there was even some cosmos growing in our veggie plots. I ended up weeding em out every time I get home from teaching at Uni just so I'll be able to keep them in check.
