Okay so out of the 6 beetroots i planted it seems only 2 have made it through But how do i know when they're ready to be eaten ? Heres a picture of them feeling a little drowned by my chives which im gonna cut back a little today, i think i've got a few weeds inbetween and just generally in this sink but im going to try and i.d everything before i start picking out anything.

When they are as big has a golf ball upto the size of a tennis ball. I would sow them earlier next year outside April onwards it is getting late in the year now for them to get much bigger.

If they don't make it this year at least their leaves are edible
