I am still in the middle of emptying the dalek compost bin and spreading it over all the beds. I am feeling quite pleased with myself, because it is the biggest job since my heart operation and then my huge fall. I am trying to build up some strength and it is working. The garden looks really good now, but the avocado pips still need chopping. They are hard to compost.

Another day with nothing getting done on the balcony! I had hoped that with it being dry & warmer temps forecast I might have been able to empty out the hanging baskets & see if the Begonia tubers had survived. But when I went out onto the balcony to make a start I realized at once it was going to be impossible due to the strong wind blowing everything around. It's not something I can do in the kitchen, like potting up cuttings or even repotting small plants. So I will have to continue to wait till we get a dry, warm day with little or no wind.

Fed the birds, deadheaded some daffodils & went out a few times to pick up potted trees which were blowing over.

managed to get the strip down the front path cleared and weeded. I had some tulips that were being grown in pots to go out there but because I've not been able to plant them I ended up just planting the pots as well just for some colour, will be easy to remove them anyway. Most of the plants I put in last year have suffered with all the rain, I've cut them back but don't hold out much hope for them

I managed my first half hour this year in an evening the garden last night after work, and started work on the vegetable patch. Then this morning I've been over it with the electric tiller, raked and levelled it as my first batch of pea's and beetroot in the greenhouse are very close to being ready to plant out.

Although this is getting repetitive & boring it was another day of nothing getting done on the balcony 😕 Until the winds calm down and we have no rain that will be the story for longer.

Just watering in the greenhouse today, but I ended up re-felting one of the shed roofs yesterday afternoon after Kathleen ripped half the felt off and deposited it in the middle of the lawn. The task was made more difficult by the strong wind, and then it started to rain just as I was hammering the last row of tacks in.

Sowed some chilli seeds in a tin bucket in the greenhouse & fed the birds. Had workmen in replacing some blown glass units in the windows & then put all the pots back which I'd moved for them.
