Received a pack of 10 assorted hanging basket plug plants in the post from a Dobies special offer so I potted them up in the greenhouse.

I've been really busy trying to get stuff out the greenhouse, planted 7 dahlias up, also filled pots ready for summer. Still got a bit more to do

Moved the huge pot my Acer had been in to the top of the garden and put extra drainage in ready for my friend to come and move the Acer which has been sitting in the wheelbarrow drying off, not the easiest of jobs thank goodness he can lift heavy things it's now in it's new place, looks very sorry for itself but some of the tiny leaves look ok, so fingers crossed I have managed to save it, only time will tell. Emptied the compost bin into the new container along with 2 bags of topsoil, it still needs possibly 3 bags of compost to finally fill it watered everything in the greenhouse then did more on the slabs getting rid of moss and weeds

Sawed up some very old conifer logs for a neighbour, otherwise very little as we had family over.

As the bank holiday Monday was a warm day with very light winds I was able to get out on the balcony and do some work, for once! At long last I was able to repot the Carnation seedlings that have been crying out for bigger pots for a couple of months! By "robbing Peter to pay Paul" I was able to repot them all. Most will need repotting into bigger pots in a month or so as most of the pots are not big enough for them to stay in for longer than that, but at least I won't have to water them almost every day any more!
I also potted up the Petunias I bought in town last Saturday. I thought there were 12 plugs in each of the 2 trays I bought but it turned out that there were only 9! So I may have to buy another tray! On top of that 3 were too badly damaged to save! ☹️

Sowed some dahlia ' Bishop's Children' seeds & pricked out & potted up some rudbeckia 'Irish Eyes' seedlings in the greenhouse. Also planted out more seed potatoes in 3 big tubs, Charlotte, Pentland Javelin & Ulster Prince - only trouble was I mixed up the labels so they'll be a surprise! 😁

Another day without being able to do anything on the balcony! This time with a very good excuse - I wasn't at home! I went with my wife to the hospital in another town where she had a repeat appointment at the eye clinic. As the trains were on strike we had to go by taxi! We didn't get back home till nearly 7pm! But our son picked us up at the bus station & brought us home. He had brought with him a tray of pots with Morning Glory & Malva seedlings. So tomorrow or during the next few days I will have to find somewhere to plant them! But first I have to put up the new strings on the balcony railings so the Morning Glories have somewhere to climb up! I have to renew the strings every year as during the winter the weather ends up breaking the majority.
