The sun was out but a not a warm wind, that meant my old work tracksuit over my better track suit to keep the leg warm. I dug out more Spanish Bluebells and a lot of a low creeping plant that is smothering everything. I found two Mini Dahlias shooting already. I have the Chinese Ground Orchids, plus several other plants to plant in the areas I just cleaned up.

Same here, very soggy, I've even worn a muddy patch where I stand to put the bird food out despite trying to stand on the stepping stones. We went to a funeral yesterday morning, it was our neighbour from our old house, he wasn't very old, only in his late sixties & he & his late wife had always encouraged me with my garden & swapped plants, giving me garden vouchers for birthdays etc. The church was packed & was funny as well as moving, he had a wicked sense of humour!

At last a morning in the garden i cleared a lot of stuff out the front borders all ready for planting bulbs and wallflowers for the spring all looking much better, swept a lot of leaves up from the back as well all ready for the tip on Tuesday. Fed the birds and saw the wren back this morning shame about the hedgehogs they've gone haven't seen any signs of them for weeks, we even looked in there house.

Managed to get a hour in the garden after all yesterday. Surprisingly we still have a lot in bloom which either needed staking or propping up as their wet blooms were causing them to droop under their weight.

36 'lucky dip' winter bedding plant plugs from T&M (£4.99 & free p&p) arrived yesterday so I potted them up in cell trays & put them in the greenhouse & tidied up the tomatoes in there, still some ripening so I left the plants for now & just pulled off the dead/dying leaves & one plant which had finished.

Well finally had a good session in the garden yesterday ..7hrs! Got so much done, but still have a few remaining bulbs to plant. Most of the tender plants have been cut back and potted up for over wintering.Shrubs were trimmed a little to give them a crisp shape, still a few things to do but we're nearly 'winter ready'.

Been busy emptying the old shed, sorting and storing things I want to keep in the greenhouse, it's been a mammouth job, the floor has rotted out and one side, but it's ready now to knock down

A bit of a wash out here.....parts of garden flooded again with all the rain. Its quieter today, overcast and breezy. Not attempting any jobs in the garden today...

My Pelargoniums in the Perspex shelter had become very dry and watering them was no good, so after taking off the dead leaves and flowers I put them outside to get the rain. I also put some mums in pots outside for the rain. Now I need a dry day so that I can take them back in again.

I was able to put my Pelargoniums back in the polytunnel, during a brief sunny spell this afternoon
I also found a tray full of Dahlia seedlings that I had forgotten about. It was full of water so I tipped it out and put them into the polytunnel. I am hoping they will survive the winter.
