That's a shame grindle but hopefully it will sprout again next year & they grow like mad don't they once they get going. I haven't done anything other than feed the birds & hedgehogs, still hedgehog poo appearing on the lawn so they're still active here.

I'm sorry to hear about your Wisteria grindle. I hope it won't be too long before it's big enough to flower again for you.
I didn't doo anything in the garden but took a car-full of bags containing leaves branches etc to the tip. It's handy having a car with a ramp for a wheelchair, because you can get lots of stuff in there, and the bags have been in there for ages, waiting for me to get around to disposing of them … Spiders had made lots of webs inside the car, and I am finding snails, woodlice etc everywhere in there. I'll have to take it to be cleaned now, before Beryl can go into it in her wheelchair !

Just about finished off the "cutting back". Also stripped the leaves from a couple of fuchsias in the greenhouse:)

thanks all, yes I'm hoping it will come back, apart from the main trunk, there are one or two side shoots that look ok. Yesterday they came and took my old shed down, well it almost fell down The new one was supposed to be delivered today, but there was 'a problem with production' so it's been arranged for next Tuesday

Sounds like you had a very nice wildlife garden in the back of your car Eli! Hopefully your shed will arrive in better weather grindle, it looks a bit wet & windy down your way on the weather maps today! I wrapped up in a thick jacket & decided to clear the tomato plants out of the greenhouse yesterday, picked the last of the green toms. & pulled the plants & put them in the council green waste bin as they were looking a bit mildewed/blighted & I'll take the growbags out today & spread the compost in the borders.

Took the growbags out of the greenhouse ready to spread the compost on the borders & O.H. dug out the shelves to put my over-wintering plants on in there. Planted up the 2 hanging baskets by the side door with autumn/winter bedding & bulbs & put some of the summer plants from them into pots in the greenhouse.

Planted up 2 more hanging baskets & a small basket by the garage, lots more to do but some of the pots & baskets still look colourful as they are.

I've still got some tiny bellis plants in the greenhouse jellibeans but I have been popping them into the hanging baskets as I've done them, planted up 2 more yesterday. The sparrowhawk was back yesterday as well, made me jump, I was sitting in the back room & heard a flapping of wings & looked out & it was there staring at me having just missed the pigeon it was aiming for on the feeders!

I have a few smaller ones left and ...dare I say a bit tatty looking too but my aim is to sneak them into a couple of hanging baskets and then ' hang em high' !!
