I like 'mystery' pots like that too Eli where I can't remember or don't know what's in them & wait & see what comes up. I decided to give the front garden a bit of a tidy up yesterday & cut back all the dead foliage which was hanging over the borders covering the emerging bulbs etc., filled the council 'green' waste bin & not much room left in the compost bins either now. Still needs some tidying up & the back garden needs doing.

Salvation Army shop was selling well established flowering Portulaca in 8cm pots only $2.50 on Fri I bought six. The wife bought three younger and not as established as much this morning. I planted them this morning. At the moment it's a stinking 30c and too hot to work outside

Far to wet and cold to do anything out there today

I agree with Lesley... it's MISERABLE. Drizzling, cold and windy.

Thank goodness for a good sprinkler system I watered each area for 15min and one small area with the hose by the way it's only 30+c at the moment.

Started tidying up the back garden yesterday & cleared some of the dead foliage off the borders & did a bit of weeding. Clearing the front of the borders has revealed lots of bulbs coming up & even a few snowdrops & crocuses already out. Filled the council green waste bin again & still lots to clear - I'll just have to squash it all down in there.

I spent 2hrs tying up and cleaning around the Dahlias today. For health reasons I am well behind with the general gardening and the Dahlias. If lucky (weather permitting) I have at least another 6hrs to go. If I can get 2hrs a day I will be more than very happy.

This morning I spent over 1hr digging out weeds not hot or cold good weather. After lunch more Dahlias to be tied up but the temp was rising I stopped when the temp reached 27 in the shade, all up I managed to get 3+hrs work done.. Tomorrow weather possible showers, more work still to be done? Keith
