I'm afraid they don't like my garden, Rosie. I succeed with Corydalis lutea and C. ochraleuca, but the blue ones vanish each time I try. Very strange.

I do like these plants. The flowers have such an interesting shape. However, I've never had any success with them.
The yellow one grows wild on walls all around here, so I don't know why I can't grow them in my garden.

We weren't much help, were we, Rosie - however, the best blue one I had was C. flexuosa 'Blue Dragon'. I'm sure you'd like it, if Corydalis are happy in your garden. I grow C. solida as well as the other two I mentioned - and they come up each year; but they're pink. Very pretty!

It should, Rosie; it's my Rudbeckia deamii that has completely vanished (after 3 or 4 years) but R. 'Goldsturm' is still going strong. Sorry if I misled you. By the way, did you know that some of the Corydalis grow from corms? The pink ones do - Corydalis solida 'Beth Evans' being the prettiest one I have. You could get some very soon, as they're available with the bulbs. That's if you like pink ones of course? screen shot software

I like all corydalis Geranium, they are such pretty flowers . I did know they grew from a corm, it's fascinating the way plants are so diverse.

Wouldn't you think that all Corydalis grew from corms? I think I might order some corms when I do my bulb order. I love 'Beth Evans'.
