I found this while I was up on the bank weeding. Poor thing - it's a bit early! screenshot appMy Loropetalum is doing well. I must get the fleece ready because it suffers when the weather gets cold. photo sharing

I've tried Schizostylis in my garden, too, but the only one that comes up every year is S. major. Such a shame - they're lovely plants. @hywel, I do like your pillar! It's a real focal point in your garden. Thank you Geranium. There's a sundial on top of the pillar too. I tried putting a pot of plants on top of it once, for a change, but the wind blew it off.
I can see you have a Primula flowering now. Isn't it strange. I have some as well. I have single mauve ones, and a double mauve one which has decided to become white all of a sudden. I don't really like to see things flowering out of season. I don't know why, but it's as if they look out of place somehow.

That Loropetalum is pretty Geranium , I haven't seen that before, think it would be too tender for up here though.

Yes, SueA, I'm afraid it would. I tried L.'Firedance' which is the dark-leaved one, and even though I treble fleeced it, it died in the last severe winter we had.

Absolutely the best perennial aster and this is a lovely photo of it Lou78W. They are known as Easter Daisies in Australia.

Lovely aster Lou78W , there seem to be quite a lot of the wild ones along the motorways & roadsides around here this year.

That's my favourite Aster too, Lou78W. I planted three in the wall border last year, as well as having it in other beds.

Very nice Fractal. I have one about 6 ft tall which I had to move to go between the shrubs around the oil tank. It is not your pedigreed one SteveN, but it is self supporting and takes all weathers.

It's very tall and will reach at least 7ft each year by autumn when established. Great perennial!
