Ah! I think seeds must be available from somewhere - the Horticultural College had tiny plants for sale last year. I'll look in my seed catalogues first, then on 't' net. Watch this space!

I spotted this today, it was given to me by a friend last year. I looked it up and thought it was a Christmas box and planted it accordingly. Now it is flowering I know it is a Christmas box and by the amount of weight it's put on, I got it in the right place (almost), I do have to walk across a bed to smell it.

That's a different one from mine - Mine is a Sarcococca humilis, and the flowers are very small, as you can see. It still smells lovely! ;D

WF that is Sarcococca hookeriana var. 'Digyna'. I have that and the other one pictured. I prefer the S. Digyna. The smell permeates the garden here. It must depend of the time and temperature of course.

I have to get quite close to mine to get the scent, Cherry.

I wonder if you're familiar with this shrub? I love it - it's evergreen, and the leaves turn to this wonderful pinky colour in the winter. It's native to New Zealand. Pseudowintera colorata

It must depend of the time and temperature of course. I've noticed the scent from my Honeysuckle is very noticeable first thing in the morning and during the evening. I'll have a wander round there tomorrow when it gets light and see if I can smell it (the box) from the path.

Not exactly flowers or foliage yet - but this is my new Magnolia stellata and a close up of the flowers to come

That's a good looking plant there, Piskie, won't the pot be a bit too restrictive though

You will have to post a photo when it's in flower, they are my favorite Magnolias. I have a baby one in the garden which I bought at the end of last year so I've never seen it in flower. It does have some flower buds on it. I keep checking them and they are swelling nicely.
