The blackbird looks REALLY close SueA ... are you working the camera by some sort of remote control ?
Oh... what is that slatted thing in front of your greenhouse ?
Is... that a Beehive ?

The blackbird looks REALLY close SueA ... are you working the camera by some sort of remote control ? Oh... what is that slatted thing in front of your greenhouse ? Is... that a Beehive ? It's a 'passive infra-red' camera roofgardener , you set it up with the times you want it to operate, whether to take 1 pic. or 3 one after the other or video & it takes a photo if something warmer than the surroundings passes within a certain distance. The 'beehive' isn't an actual beehive, I brought it from the old house, it's a compost bin disguised as a beehive but it's got nothing in it at the moment, my compost is in 2 plastic 'dalek' shaped ones, - looks good though!

I'm hoping our hedgehogs come back in spring & pose for me steve, I tried the night setting again last night but didn't get anything other than a couple of completely white shots, don't know if there's a problem or if it had something to do with the fireworks or just a big white cat stood in front of the camera! P.S. I thought after I posted this that if the picture is white at night the object might be black -(the infrared pictures at night are black & white ), so it might be a big black cat!

I've wanted something like this for years - watching all those Springwatch/Autumnwatch shows , & my O.H. got me this as a surprise! I didn't want one of those that you have to have wires along the garden etc. so this is ideal as it's battery operated & supposedly the batteries last for weeks or months depending on how many pictures you take. Might start dropping hints about a nestbox camera for my next birthday!
