We have had 3 weeks of dry weather here in s e Cornwall, should I cut the grass or do as I normally do and leave a month? It seems long and others have been cutting theirs. Is jack frost coming back? Oh the indecision! Any advice appreciated

Cut the grass Cat. I did mine on Sunday, it looks better for it. Don't worry about Jack Frost.

There's no harm cutting it if it's in need. It's just finding a day where it's dry enough, which is not easy at this time of year. If you can cut it though, don't cut it too short at this time of year, as it may rip it up if you try and do it too low.

I cut my lawn to a depth of 25mm for a first cut. With rain forecast tomorrow will do the grass a world of good.

Cut 12 months of the year usually. Unlike me daitheplant has been known to be half cut Don't cut when ground is frozen. Cornwall has a similar climate to here in Pembrokeshire so they tell me.

grindle it started last night so on hold again! Looked at it today and its not looking happy, more yellow than I would like so going to wait awhile don't want to cause further damage as I have spent 3 years getting it to how it is now. Neighbours comment on how much better it is with us than previous owner jungle so I shall be sensible and wait (oh well!! lol)

Roofgardeners don't have these dilema's. We cut the lawn and then - if we fear frost - put it on a shelf in the greenhouse !
