Lovely, Raymond. My 'Ferncliffe Illusion' is a huge plant, but it has no sign of buds. Is there anything I can do, please?

Lovely, Raymond. My 'Ferncliffe Illusion' is a huge plant, but it has no sign of buds. Is there anything I can do, please? It flowered later for me barbera. Did you stop it ? Have you got side shoots coming from the leaf axis ? If so take out lead growing tip once you get your first flowers cut it back to the next set of side shoots that way restricting the height . It can be a tall one. I liked it as when a lot of dahlias had exhausted themselves it came good and motored through End of August September , October . Only it and pooh really kept going . Give it some high potash and Epsom salts. Fingers crossed.

Thanks, Raymond, I'll take a careful look and see what's what. I might try to take photos so I get it right!
