Geranium that it not far off flowering on the two main stems. When you get that Bush of leaves I found here that there is a bud forming inside. Get your canes in and tie it in. Don't stop it now let it run to flower. As soon as the first comes take it off and all the side shoots will start to motor. As in a pot heavy potash feed. That's what I have been recommended to do. Good luck. Looks very healthy.

Is that an anemone dahlia at the back Lou78W? It would appear to be...which is strange as I did not grow any anemone types last year...

Raymond, I took photos of my huge non-flowering Dahlia. I can't see what I should pinch out? Any clues, or should I just feed it with high potash feed and see what happens? Geranium what variety is the plant? There are no side shoots showing therefore when you do stop it or when it begins to flower it will start to show shoots in the leaf axles, they In turn will flower in approx two calendar months so you are looking late September for those shoots to flower. I Am sure you want to see the flowers therefore I would have stopped the plants four of five weeks ago to get it into flower and enjoy the flowers. Now the plants are going to be very late. As a rule if you are not to worried about showing and are using the plants for garden use. Plant late May or the 1st week in June then stop the plants after a week or so depending on the size of the plants five or six pairs of leaves is plenty big enough. Then the emerging shoots can then also be stopped (depending on the variety) to give more breaks so more flowers say early Late July early August. Regards Ian

Have you ever grown then before? I've got a tomato growing in amongst my giants! Yes I have....A few years ago Tel sent me one (similar colours). I thought I had lost the tuber but it sprouted this year and I have at least 2 lovely healthy plants.....so I can't really understand how I have a seedling looking very similar......the only difference is the outer petals are longer.

It's another ferncliff illusion ian I split my field tuber and sent half to lesley and half to Geranium. It would be a medium/small Dec . It started to flower from mid to late August with me. Tall grower. What I did find is when it started the side shoots came through very quickly. Powered through when everything else had flowered out.

Dug out a Heuchera which needed dividing and replaced it with the Chiastophyllum in the raised gravel area in the front garden. Planted the divided Heuchera pieces into pots until I decide where to plant them, some will be for the garden club plant sale. Sorted out the area near the arch - divided the irises, planted 3 and put the rest in pots, pulled out lots of 'London Pride' which had spread too far, added some BFB and pelleted chicken manure and planted an Akebia near the arch. I'll need a few more plants to fill the area now its been cleared

This shows the hanging baskets & pots etc. along the side of the house in the sunshine today. The neighbours refer to this as the 'garden centre' , it has what I intend to be permanent pots, others which I put here when we moved with the intention of moving/planting them out but haven't got around to & also new plants I've bought & haven't made a space for yet! No we don't use the garage for the car.
