We have a yucca too close to the house that has been grubbed out three times, the last time very deeply by a half-human guy the size of the house. It’s now popping up again, in three clumps. I think the only way forward is weedkiller that gets to the roots. Is there any safe way to use such stuff, as I understand that type is hazardous. Any advice welcome. Ta.

I use a very strong weed killer called once a year weeder and it treats the soil as well. If in your case if its in a garden or a lawn it will kill everything where it has watered (It is not a spray I use a watering can)
I had a few that were a problem and killed them completely. Cut them so the trunk/stem is seen and immediately pour the weed killer onto the cuts it took a few months then they were dug out and never seen again.
