I think we have all from time to time had complaints about Royal Mail....but today's little event had my blood boiling ..I had a card through the door yesterday....the usual jargon....you were not in etc., taken back to sorting office....wait 4 hours before collecting...blah...blah.48 hours notice needed for re-delivery. I usually use the internet to re-arrange delivery....but fortunately it was not working yesterday....and no-one was answering the phone in the sorting office when I phoned them soooooo. persuaded OH to drive through to Morpeth Sorting Office to collect the parcel.......I was expecting a few deliveries so didn't know what I was collecting..... I was handed a parcel...and on it written in large letters.......LIVE PLANTS - HANDLE WITH CARE!!!!!!!!.....I will not repeat what I said I knew straight away that it was some "difficult to obtain" dahlia cuttings from Dahliaman Paul........ if...I had been able to get through to the re-delivery service and book a delivery, I would not have received them till MONDAY/TUESDAY next week Just imagine what sort of condition they would have been in Don't you think the delivery man could have used his brain (well half brain : and leave the parcel by the bin/back door, where they usually leave parcels......grrrrr... Anyway...alls well that ends well and the cuttings are tucked up in their little pots in the hot bed ;D ;D Phew ;D

Our postie delivers everything. He has his own mail shelf with a plant tray for the hangar. No trouble at all.

You eventually managed to get your plants, but it is a good thing you went to pick the parcel up, otherwise like you say, god knows what condition they would have been in later. The Royal Mail lost my parcel of dahlia tubers he last time i ordered any, they never were found.

Glad you collected them OK, Lou. That's soooo annoying! Our posties are very good - they'll leave parcels in the porch.

I know your problem well Lou and i agree, it really does make your blood boil I too had some plants sent to me a while ago, from someone on a different forum, but those never ever showed up even so someone somewhere had a lovely parcel of free plants The sender had proof of postage but each of our PO's were worse than useless when it came to helping us

Again i am lucky, our different posties know to leave parcels in the top shed. but i would have been a wee bit annoyed about that Louise.

we had a really good postie (Colin) he put all our letters and parcels etc behind our planter near the font door, letters because Sam the rescue lab chews letters The PO have rearranged the routes and so I caught new postie to explain thinking he was just relief for holiday as it was 1.30pm. Thats when I found out about the new routes. We are his last delivery so we have gone from post about 9.30-10.00 to 1.00pm-2.30pm. its just crazy.
