I recorded Alan's programme & just watched it & really enjoyed it, a nice bit of 'easy watching', I know some people don't like the little 'thrown in ' bits about bees/wildlife etc. but it was interesting to see how the cats weren't put off at all by the lion's poo or the sonic deterrent showing that maybe these are a waste of money. Did anyone else notice by the way that the lady whose garden they used for the bird/cat feature was Caroline Broome, one of the regular writers for Garden News 'Your Gardens'? I recognised her new round rill water feature as soon as it started! Oooh...you are very observant Sue....I didn't notice....will have to watch it all again as a reminder

I thought she left and went to Wales a couple of years ago.

Sharp teeth as well Sweetpea! ;D Not sure who you're thinking of Cherry, I think the Broome's still do 'Your Gardens', or at least they did last time I bought G.N., Caroline (I think that's her name isn't it?) wrote about them building the rill a good few months ago & it did still look very new in A.T.'s programme. I don't think she's ever mentioned her cats & the cat 'exercise yard' in her section though.

I quite enjoyed last nights programme, the featured garden had a nice 'feel' to it but those mosiacs ....... Quality not quantity came to mind I think one or two lovely ones is a nice touch in a country garden but the word 'overkill' came to mind there - too many by far ! I find myself fast-forwarding the 'cooking sections' each week and i think the wildlife sections are a bit weak but this additional programme to GW is a really good idea because there aren't enough programmes like this.

I enjoyed it too - probably due to the Presenter! He knows his stuff, so he has credibility. It needs to be an hour long, though - it's too short.

I enjoyed it, although it is a bit simplistic.I wish he would have said alchemilla mollis instead of lady's mantle - even Wyevales market it as A.M. Quick fix is a bit forced - why hadn't they planted a native hedge already? :/

I think the AT prog is aimed at newbies and those who just want light entertainment.

I disagree, if new gardeners saw those gardens that have been featured so far they'd run a mile at the thought of recreating those.
That last series of GW with Toby Buckland was aimed at newbies and that was painful (being a non-newbie), i think ATs programme is definately aimed at experienced gardeners wanting something nice to watch each week.
I suppose, the newbies can aspire to the two gardens, but they'll be a long way off from them.

Well I only saw the first one and I still think it's for 'entertainment'. I've always liked Monty but surely there's another 'Geof H' out there, someone beginners and Louise could identify with
