well have ordered my plants but i have been given some tubers from a geltleman near me he stored all his tubers and was gonna dump these i was lucky enough to be given these to try my hand at setting them away they are lacresse,elma e,alice mascot,ruskin myra ,kenora valintine,emlea.moorpage,dalico jupiter,alfsmascot,kerrylynn,streets ahead. painted lady marstan lilac jim branagan kendra sun,tiptoe ruskin diane rycroft brenda rossendale natasha and my favorate of all his dahlias is one called old hanky with a bit of luck help and advice i should get some to grow i have in the past managed to grow some garden centre varitities

i have a small polytunnel out the back what is the most economical way to heat it gas or electric also i know this sounds daft can u still get parafin heaters and where would i get it since garages no longer seam to stock it

have tried to order from n dc but i cant find an order list will ring them tom the dahlias i have ordered are
tahtai sunrise evline forster nationwide hamari katerina boogie woogie caffe au latte gaudy amican pico moms special and blackberry ripple has any body ever had any of them and are they ok i dont think they are show i think they are just garden varietys the pics look ok

the kid i got mine off charges 30 quid for a tailer full bout 8 tonne he loaded 3 tractor buckets in the trailer and i said u can take that back there was more than enough and it is well rotteted

how come when you get a load of manure delivered all your friends disapear ,never mind 50 barrowloads later thats all the boreders done and a little bit spare just finnished before the rain all done but my back is breakin

i will pot my tubers as i have a few varietys and buy some different cuttings they are just for the garden but i want different varietys i proberley have enough room for about 89 dahlias maybe a biy more so i will need to be able to store the tubers next year i have sent of for a few plants and have my eye on some different one i particuly like gaudy i have some old hanky and tip toe and painted lady i saw them flower last year and were very pretty

thanks tell i dont need much brainwashingwish id statred years ago i have ordered a few different ones to try im just growing them for the garden i have a huge back garden wich is lawned it vis about 30 mtrs by 10 and a little bit waste that could be cleaned i had crysaths in the front garden last year and had about 30 plants in and some dahlias i have a few old strains my pal give me some old hankys wich il like and painted lady the problem i have a few varitys so i will have a nice selection i read some where that i dont have to take cuttings i can plant the tubers in the garden again next year

they are to nice for the compost heep tel can i ask what u mean by letting them grow straight up can i ask why you do that told u i wasnt 2bright when it came to dahlia matters hope youi dont mind me buggin you with questions

looking at some of these dahlia has anyone grown them the pics look ok but are the pics as good as the real thing almands climax, amaran pico,amaran relish,caffe au latte,gaudy holland festival, and maureen hard wick

i think it might be a bit to late tell have been visiting the allotments havent told the wife yet she already thinks i spend to much time on the internet lookin at dahlias will keep it quite till i take her out for a few sherbits she will be ok as i will buy her a rotavator
