A man went to the doctor. He said "Doc, you gotta check my leg. Something's wrong. Just put your ear up to my thigh, you'll hear it!"
The doctor cautiously placed his ear to the man's thigh only to hear "Gimme 20 bucks, I really need 20 bucks". "I've never seen or heard anything like this before, how long has this been going on?" the doctor asked.
"That's nothing Doc. put your ear to my knee".
The doctor put his ear to the man's knee and heard it say "Man, I really need 10 bucks, just lend me 10 bucks!!"
"Sir, I really don't know what to tell you. I've never seen anything like this".
The doctor was dumbfounded.
"Wait Doc, that's not it. There's more, just put your ear up to my ankle" the man urged him.
The doctor did as the man said and was blown away to hear his ankle plead "Please, I just need 5 bucks. Lend me 5 bucks please if you can".
I have no idea what to tell you" the doctor said. "There's nothing about it in my books" he said as he frantically searched all his medical reference books.
"I can make a well-educated guess though. Based on life and all my previous experience I can tell you that your leg appears to be broke in three places".

Not really practical in my situation to cover with enviromesh or similar. I think years ago I used to puff derris dust along the rows but can't really remember. So what do you use to prevent the little caterpillars in the peapods? Wonder what the big commercial growers use.

I leave the flower heads for the insects but top them when they start to develop the parachutes.
Just finished preparing the seed beds for the veg. Used my old Black & Decker electric cultivator then hand raked it down to a reasonable tilth Always have to spend ages getting the weed roots disentangled from the tines. The ground is still very dry so might wait to see if the expected rain arrives before sowing.

I worked all day on my new garden plan, cutting, sawing and hammering. Then I took out my "Alligator" (mini chainsaw) to use it for the very first time since I bought it 4 years ago. it was great, make short work of the chopped down damson and the stumps of my hedge roses ( they had to go ) I think I might upgrade to a proper chainsaw nest I do like electric tools . Until you have a power cut. I once cut through the cable on hedge trimmer while I was up a ladder so it was no more electric trimmer but I do still have a few leccy tools though very seldom use them as I hate trailing cables around.

One and a half hours mowing the grass areas. Either that lawnmower is getting heavier or I'm getting weaker. I know, I'll blame the vaccine Actually the self propelled part of the mower isn't working so have to push it up and down hill. Must get it seen to as it is really good when working properly. Also sowed some runner beans in pots. Not all of them as will sow some direct in May.
