Good for you, Wf. How big do they have to be before they're safe from becoming supper?

The parents are fair sized fish so this lot will need to be at least 2cm before they stand a chance.

We do not do anything for the fry here. They are totally on they're own. The pond is far too overstocked as it is. Not seen any so far this year but I'm sure that there will be as the happy slappy season has been as usual.

You may notice a difference in growth the large one will be stronger and feed more than the rest have you a spare bowl?? If you can split the stronger bigger fry form the others the give them a better chance .

They have a porper tank now, I found a tiny one at the car boot complete with a pump/filter. On the lowest setting the little fish can't cope with the moving water, they were being pushed round and round the tank, it was funny to watch and didn't do them any harm but it probably would if I left it on. There is enough surface area to prvide all the oxygen they need. I can see them now too

Very good . Keep an eye on the water perimeters, the filter will start to cycle and you will have ammonia & No2 spikes. If you do a water change every day for the next week or so it should be fine . See if you can get some test strips from your LFS if you don't have any. Are you using tap water or pond water?? Also keep an eye on the temp with them being on the windowsill .

The tank is filled with pond water and gets no direct sun where it is. There is oxygenating plants in there and they all look happy. The parents are spawning again

Just keep an eye on the water prams though, if ammonia or NO2 levels build it will damage or may kill the fry. A small water change every day with pond water will help . Oooo goody more fry . I'm hopeing my sea horses start to breed soon i miss having Fry despite the hard work.
