I can't believe it's a whole month since my last attempt to convert people to liking Geraniums! ;D Anyway, you don't have to read it, but here goes on another group. G. psilostemon is a great colour, a magenta-red with a black centre. Talk about eye-catching! Because of that, and its vigorous nature and large leaves, it can be hard to place it in a garden. It really needs bravery - or using it as Christopher Lloyd did, to clash with other colours - and why not? It looks amazing with scarlet and orange flowers in a hot border. It looks a bit purple in this picture from August last year - that's my camera - sorry. There are several hybrids around from G.psilostemon - all of which are sterile, sadly. I have 'Ann Folkard', 'Dragon Heart' - which has really large flowers - and last, but not least, 'Patricia'. I'm really fond of her. How could you resist her?

I've got this one Geranium (although I didn't know it's name ). It looks lovely growing through dark leaved Heucheras too ;D Mine grows very well in a couple of shady places.

They can get a bit rampant! So now you know, Peony! ;D I can imagine it with dark leaved plants - lovely. I agree - shame I can't collect seed for you, Seaburn.:-(
