Very healthy looking plants Steve. I can keep them overwinter in the ground, but I always put some babies in the greenhouse, as a precaution - needed them after last winter!!

Looking good. I always found mine took 3 years to flower. I've never managed a huge flower spike, I've kept them going in pots but even though the pots were huge they didn't like having their roots restricted. Five foot is all I've managed. Lesley, I have some seeds if you would like some.

Very Les, germination can be erratic though.
Are you still at No.67? If so I'll pop some in the post, if not, can you PM me your new address.

These were self sown! I dug them up from the gravel, they came from one that got to about 5' and decided to stop at that size and flower ;D

I just found half a dozen seedlings coming up in my gravel. It was a good three years ago that one flowered near there. I might pot them up and have one more go. I'm a glutton for punishment ;D

They sulk at first when they've been disturbed but soon recover

Easy to spot the seedlings isn't it with the black spots on the leaves

Yep, if it wasn't for the black spots they would have been hooked out as weeds.
