Yesterday I watched a couple of ladybirds emerge, what surprised me was the very pale colour and they had no spots. They must darken down and get their spots as they dry out. I forgot to go back and check them and they have gone now

I've not seen it happen before either, I can see where their spots are going to be too, good photo ;D

I spend a lot of time on my hands and knees and admit to having seen this before but then all creep crawlies have fascinated me since I was a kid so I guess thats why. It is interesting how they change colour.
